GENERAL OVERVIEW

The Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering is developed in accordance with the mission and vision of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT). The program prepares Master’s graduates in Mechanical Engineering with strong ethical values, high professional level, solid scientific and engineering foundations, and advanced practical expertise. In addition, graduates are equipped with comprehensive and systems thinking skills, as well as the ability to approach, organize, and effectively solve scientific and technical problems in the field of Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering. The program also develops independent and creative research capabilities, a high level of adaptability to the globalized socio-economic environment and international integration. Finally, the program fosters indepedent learning abilities and the capacity to engage in domestic and international training programs leading to higher academic qualifications.

FACULTY MEMBERS

Currently, the Faculty of Technology has 10 lecturers contributing to the development and delivery of the Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering, including 4 Associate Professors and 6 PhD holders. All courses in the curriculum are regularly updated to reflect the latest advancements in the field.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach specialized courses in Mechanical Engineering in accordance with the curriculum;
  • Develop and refine the Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Provide scientific consultancy for the Faculty and the University;
  • Conduct applied research projects in high-tech engineering, education, and production.

 

MAIN RESEARCH DIRECTIONS

  • Design and fabrication of heat pump dryer;
  • Optimization of fundamental machine components in mechanical manufacturing;
  • Optimization helps reduce the size, cross-sectional area, volume, and weight of machine components, thereby minimizing material consumption and improving equipment efficiency;
  • Automated production systems applying Industry 4.0 technologies;
  • Industrial robotic systems integrated with intelligent control capabilities;
  • IoT-integrated control systems;
  • Research on application innovation, and technology mastery in agricultural production and the food processing industry;
  • Food processing machinery

  • Assistive devices for people with disabilities
  • Smart devices
  • 3D printing technology
  • Research on specialized heat and mass transfer processes and solutions for enhancing heat transfer in thermal and refrigeration processes and equipment
  • Development of thermophysical property models of food materials;
  • Research on the application and development of new and renewable energy, and energy recovery. Solutions for improving efficiency and saving energy in thermal equipment
  • Clean combustion technologies combined with renewable energy and research on energy-saving and efficient energy utilization solutions;
  • Optimization and improvement of freezing processes for seafood and Vietnamese food products;
  • Enhancement of drying technologies for agricultural, forestry, and fishery products in Vietnam;
  • Research on the design and fabrication of food processing equipment and production lines under domestic conditions.
