OVERVIEW

DOCTORAL TRAINING OBJECTIVES

The doctoral program in Mechanical Engineering aims to train PhD candidates who have strong moral character and professional ethics, advanced academic qualifications, solid foundations in basic sciences and core engineering knowledge, and a high level of practical competence.

Doctoral graduates are expected to develop comprehensive and systematic thinking, as well as the ability to approach, organize, and effectively solve scientific and technical problems in the field of Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering. They are capable of conducting independent and innovative scientific research, adapting to the globalized socio-economic environment and international integration, and engaging in continuous self-development and advanced academic programs both domestically and internationally.

Knowledge

Doctoral candidates acquire in-depth expertise and mastery of advanced and emerging technologies in Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering. They develop methods and skills in mechanical system design, machine tool design, as well as modern manufacturing process design.

Skills

Graduates are able to apply acquired knowledge to explore and address real-world challenges, creatively and effectively utilizing scientific and technological advancements in Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering and Automation Engineering to solve practical problems in production and daily life. They demonstrate scientific and professional working methods, systems and analytical thinking, presentation and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teamsand the capacity to integrate into an international working environment. They also have strong capabilities for self-study, continuous knowledge updating, independent scientific research, and develop technical applications. Graduates also possess sufficient knowledge to pursue doctoral studies.

Level of Autonomy and Responsibility

Doctoral candidates develop the ability to conduct independent research and propose significant innovations. They are capable of adapting, self-directing, and mentoring others. They can provide expert-level conclusions within their specialized field and are competent in managing, evaluating, and improving professional activities.

 

MAIN RESEARCH DIRECTIONS

Design and manufacturing of a heat pump-based drying machine;

  • Optimization of fundamental machine components in the field of manufacturing engineering;

·       Optimization helps reduce the size, cross-sectional area, volume, and weight of fundamental machine components, thereby minimizing material consumption and improving equipment efficiency;

·       Automated production systems applying achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0);

·       Industrial robotic systems integrated with intelligent control capabilities;

·       IoT-integrated control systems;

·       Research on innovation, application, and technological mastery in agricultural production and the food industry;

·       Food processing machinery;

·       Assistive devices for people with disabilities;

·       Smart devices;

·       3D printing technology;

·       Research on heat transfer and mass transfer processes, as well as heat transfer enhancement solutions in thermal and refrigeration processes and equipment;

·       Development of thermophysical property models for food products;

·       Research on the application and development of new and renewable energy sources, as well as solutions to improve efficiency and save energy in thermal equipment;

·       Clean combustion technology and renewable energy, combined with research on energy-saving and efficient energy-use solutions;

·       Improvement of freezing processes for Vietnamese seafood and food products;

·       Enhancement of drying technologies for Vietnam’s agricultural, forestry, and seafood products;

·       Research on the design and development of food processing equipment and production lines adapted to local conditions.

Year 2024
