Doctoral admissions information for 2026
Doctoral (PhD) PROGRAM
A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering (Kỹ thuật cơ khí) possesses superior professional skills and a high level of theoretical expertise to solve practical problems or generate new knowledge within the mechanical or interdisciplinary fields in the era of Industry 4.0. Furthermore, a PhD in Mechanical Engineering has the capability to organize, manage, and lead research groups within the mechanical engineering sector.
To achieve the objectives stated above, PhD candidates are equipped with:
1. Knowledge:
a. Advanced and specialized mechanical engineering knowledge: Research into the design and development of mechanical products and machinery; research and development of modern technologies; R&D of new algorithms and computational methods to meet engineering demands; and the research, development, and application of new production organization models.
b. Foundational knowledge for self-directed learning: Staying current with scientific and technological advancements in the industry of 4.0 era. Basic administrative and management knowledge to participate in leading research groups.
2. Working skills: Creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and research group management.
3. Autonomy and Responsibility: Self-directed research to create knowledge and solve urgent issues, while maintaining scientific research integrity.
Other brief information:
Quota: 5 PhD candidates per academic year (Academic Year 2026–2027).
Admission Method: Admission by application (2 intake times per year).
Language Requirement: Entry level B2 or equivalent degrees/certificates as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.
