Annual Science and Technology Conference 2025–2026
ANNUAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE 2025–2026
Theme: “Green Technology and Sustainable Production”
On the morning of May 9th, 2026, at the 3rd floor of the Information and Library Center, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering successfully organized the Faculty-level Science and Technology Conference 2026 with the theme “Green Technology and Sustainable Production”.

Overview of the workshop on the 3rd floor of the Information and Library Center.
The workshop was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huy Hoang – Head of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le The Truyen – Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technology, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Thai – Workshop Secretary, along with representatives from many businesses, scientists, lecturers, and students from within and outside the faculty.
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huy Hoang emphasized the role of science and technology in the context of green transformation and sustainable development today. The workshop is an important academic forum to connect research with practical production, while seeking technological solutions to reduce carbon emissions, optimize energy, and improve industrial production efficiency.

The program featured numerous in-depth presentations focusing on areas such as numerical simulation, design optimization, materials technology, and renewable energy. A highlight was the research by PhD candidate Huynh Van Nam on optimizing the heat sink topology for a two-chip electronic system using density field methods and COMSOL Multiphysics software. The research results proposed a symmetrical tree-like network heat sink structure, contributing to improved heat transfer efficiency in modern electronic systems.

In addition, Dr. Vo Duy Tan presented research on predicting the failure location of gas turbine blades under high temperature and pressure conditions using CFD simulation and structural analysis. The research showed that the most prone locations for fractures are the guide edges and the base of the turbine blades, opening up the possibility of application in predictive maintenance and optimizing operating costs in the energy industry.
In the field of materials technology, PhD candidate, M.Sc. Dinh Le Cao Ky, published research results on the influence of preheating temperature on bonding in ultrasonic welding of AA6061 aluminum alloy. The results indicated that a temperature of 125°C optimizes the plastic deformation zone and increases the strength of the weld.
Notably, the presentation by Ms. Dang Thi Xuan Mai – Deputy General Director of AN Mai Equipment Import-Export Co., Ltd. on renewable energy technology from organic waste attracted much attention. The report highlights the role of biogas and microbial technologies in waste treatment, generating clean energy, and promoting a circular economy model in modern production.
The discussion was lively, with many contributions from scientists and businesses. Delegates focused on the practical applications of research, the need to improve practical skills, software skills, and industrial work ethics for students. Business representatives also highly appreciated the learning spirit and discipline of students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technology, and expressed their desire to further strengthen cooperation between the university and businesses in training, internships, and technology transfer.
