Manufacturing Engineering Technology is a field that applies physical principles to design and produce machines, equipment, and useful devices serving daily life and industrial production, such as automobiles, aircraft, robots, heating and cooling systems, manufacturing equipment, household appliances, weapons, and more.
With the development of modern society and the increasing demand for higher labor productivity, machinery and equipment are required to be more compact, flexible, and intelligent. As a result, the role of the mechanical engineering sector has become increasingly important.
TRAINING OBJECTIVES
- To equip students with knowledge and skills in machining, design, manufacturing, and improvement of mechanical products; the ability to operate, assemble, and maintain mechanical equipment and systems; and the capability to solve machinery- and equipment-related issues in production processes. Graduates are able to read and produce technical drawings; are proficient in operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, planers, welding equipment, and CNC machines; and can design machine components as well as complete machines.
- Besides, students are trained to develop professional working manners, a strong sense of labor discipline, and the ability for self-study and continuous improvement of practical skills in order to effectively meet scientific and technical tasks in the field of mechanical engineering.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
After graduation, students may take on positions such as:
- Mechanical Engineer in operation, maintenance, design, and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment at manufacturing, business, and service enterprises for security and national defense, automotive, shipbuilding, aviation, and etc.
- Technical Consultant, Manager, Technical Supervisor, or Researcher at companies, factories, enterprises, colleges, universities, and research institutes in technical service fields related to mechanical engineering.
- Lecturer teaching courses in Manufacturing Engineering Technology at colleges and vocational schools.
- Pursue postgraduate studies at universities and research institutes both domestically and internationally.
